NEWBIRD, the school Mascot. @ The wings symbolize our dual language approach: one wing represents learning in English (E) and the other learning in Japanese (J). The child’s native language (NL), whether it is one or the other, or yet a third language, is essential to the bird itself. What a strong and solid bird this is.
New IS name logo designed by a parent. The two buds represent the dual language approach. The three lines are symbolic of the three-year age range of the multiage classrooms.
